Hi, I’m excited to introduce my new Finance Tracker—designed for Notion users. This tool integrates several features that make it stand out from many other finance tracker tools available.

As with any tool built in Notion, it's limited by the platform’s capabilities. The default template may work well for some, while others may need to make adjustments.

The great thing about Notion is its customizability—so if the template doesn’t fit your needs perfectly, you can tweak it to make it work for you. Additionally, I’m always here to assist with any customizations to ensure it meets your needs.

Overview Section

Provides a detailed summary across all wallets.

In this section, you can see the total available balance and the percentage increase or decrease compared to last month.

• You will also find a comparison between last month and the current month in terms of income and expenses. Upon opening the page, you will gain access to more analytics, such as total income and total expenses. </aside>

Wallets

These are the wallets you use to store money, such as PayPal.

In the Wallet section, you can view your income and expense of each wallet.

Transaction Management

Track your income, expenses, and transfers between wallets.

• This section includes three views: Income, Expense, and Transfer. I’ve used a table view for quick and easy entry of amounts, wallets, tags, and other relevant details.
• With this setup, you can input data directly without needing to navigate to a separate page.
• Completed transactions from the Marketplace or Income Sources will show here. </aside>

Income Source Tracker

Your income source tracker by their category.

• Separate views for recurring and one-time payments make it easy to manage various income sources. This section is integrated with the Transaction database, so when an income entry is marked as completed in the Income Manager, it’s automatically recorded in the Transaction database.

• This setup simplifies the management of recurring income. You can add details such as description, amount, Wallet, tags, and other relevant properties. The next time you need to enter similar information, a single click will automatically populate the transaction database with all the details.

• Recurring Payments: Includes salaries, subscriptions, and other consistent income sources.

• One-Time Payments: Covers freelance projects, bonuses, and other irregular earnings.

• As shown in the screenshot, each income source will display the total completed amount, and total completed transactions. Each transaction represents one completed payment or deal. This feature provides a clear overview of completed income. </aside>

Earning Status

Helps you track your earnings with its own dedicated status tracker.

• Each view tracks the transactions and total amounts, categorizing them as either pending or completed.
• Requested payments from the Income Source Manager will remain in the pending list until they are confirmed and moved to the Transactions database.
• Why is this step important? It allows you to track upcoming payments such as when a client settles an outstanding invoice (for freelancers), when a payment from a trading platform is approved (for traders), or when a payment from a commission-based job is processed.
• Essentially, it helps keep track of any income that requires approval or confirmation before it's received. </aside>

Marketplace (Expense Tracker)

Tracks all your expense related transactions as product.

• I’ve organized everything related to expenses within the marketplace. Whether it’s groceries or digital subscriptions, anything you spend on gets tracked and managed here.
• And just like in the Income Source Manager, once you make a purchase, the items automatically populate the transaction database.
• This makes it easy to track and log expenses, while also simplifying the management of recurring products like groceries or digital subscriptions. Once added, they can be used anytime with just one click. </aside>

Shopping Status

Helps track products in the cart and monitor completed purchases.

• Products you add from the Marketplace will appear in 'My Cart.'
• After purchase, they will move to 'My Purchases.

• The shopping cart has many features. You can set the product's quantity and price.
• Use buttons to increase quantity, confirm purchase, or remove a product from the cart! </aside>

Goals Tracker

This section helps you track savings progress toward specific financial goals.

• A dedicated section to manage financial goals, such as saving for a new item or investment.
• Each goal is displayed as a card with key details. </aside>

These are the main features I wanted to highlight, but there are many other features as well.

I’ve seen a lot of criticism directed at Notion due to some templates being cluttered and impractical, often gaining attention because of flashy content. This template, however, is designed with pure productivity and organization in mind. It focuses on delivering value rather than aesthetics, and it’s not overloaded with unnecessary views that slow down your Notion experience.
